The goals and tasks of the Independent Union are:
- Organizing union organizations in public health institutions based on the voluntary expression of the members' will;
- Realization of the interests, rights, and demands of the members of the Independent Union - healthcare workers, healthcare collaborators, and other employees in public health institutions;
- Improving working conditions, occupational safety, environmental protection, as well as special care for the health and life of employees in the workplace;
- Participating in the negotiation and signing of collective agreements and monitoring their implementation;
- Initiating, discussing, and providing opinions on laws and other regulations that regulate the socio-economic and social situation of the members;
- Negotiating, initiating, organizing, and leading strikes and assessing the effects of the strike;
- Participating in the work of relevant authorities, associations, and institutions, representing the interests of the members;
- Advocating, realizing, and regulating the employment rights of its members;
- Negotiating for the improvement of conditions for the development, advancement, and protection of inventive work and creativity;
- Establishing funds for material aid, solidarity, mutual assistance, as well as the humanity of the members;
- Informing its members as well as the public about its work;
- Union protection of its members;
- Providing spatial, technical, and material conditions for functioning;
- Ensuring conditions for continuous union education and more;
- Realizing other goals and interests of its members.
